Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Ultrasound is often used to provide deep heating to soft tissue structures in the body. Deep heating tendons, muscles or ligaments increases circulation to those tissues, which helps the healing process. Increasing tissue temperature with ultrasound is also used to help reduce pain.

Often confused with the same ultrasound your OB/GYN may use to see your baby, this ultrasound is used for a different purpose.  While deep heating is the number one reason we use this device, it also pushes swelling or fluid buildup away from injured areas, allowing for quicker blood flow return and thus faster healing.
